Jobs & Small Businesses

Colorado's small business community is the engine that drives our economy, not the government.  As a small business owner and entrepreneur, I will be a strong voice for Colorado's small businesses and work diligently for legislation that strengthens free enterprise.  I will look for solutions that will create more jobs and increase the number and quality of career paths available to our children right here in Senate District 20.  It is only through small business and the private sector that we can begin to create desperately needed jobs and careers for Coloradans.

Increase Accountability & Control Spending

I will bring a principled approach to our State’s spending.  If a government program is not doing what it was created to do, if it is not meeting its goals and serving the people of Colorado, it shouldn’t be rewarded with more tax dollars.  Coloradan’s have a right to know how politicians are spending their money.  This means that for our government to work it needs to be held accountable and no one is better equipped to do that than those footing the bill – Colorado taxpayers.

Empower Patients & Make Affordable Healthcare Accessible

America has the greatest healthcare system in the world, in spite of this fact the current system is not without its flaws.  We need to find ways to expand access to affordable healthcare for all Coloradans while at the same time not sacrificing the right of individuals and families to choose what is best for them.  Healthcare today is falling into the hands of faceless bureaucrats who dictate coverage and costs.  I support empowering individuals with control over their own healthcare so they can choose the services best suited to their needs and not those needs dictated to them by a government bureaucrat.

A New Energy Policy for Colorado

Colorado is a leader in the renewable energy field.  Our commitment to innovation and advancement in this field must be an integral part of our commitment to Colorado’s future. At the same time, we need common sense rules for extracting Colorado’s vast natural resources and to take a fresh, hard look, at proven green energy sources including nuclear.
