In 2001, I worked in the Colorado state senate chamber with republican State Senator John Evans and many other folks at the capitol. It was truly an honor to work there and I learned many things about our beautiful state and how our state government works. I consider Senator Evans one of my mentors and he taught me a great deal. I knew during that time in the state senate that it was a place for which I wanted to return. I wanted to engage in public service and work for and with my fellow Coloradans.
I have been deeply involved with projects that take Colorado doctors overseas to perform lifesaving/life-changing surgeries. This past June, we took two Colorado surgeons to Hohhot, Inner Mongolia in China. They operated on a 14 year old girl and a 15 year old boy that both suffered with severe scoliosis (deformity of the spine). I am happy to report that they are both doing very well! We continue to work on this important project and plan to take more surgeons overseas soon.
I have owned and operated my own businesses for many years. I operated a small business in Beijing China in the 1990’s. I am currently part owner of a small business in Golden, Colorado. Our business distributes products and services to hospitals all over Colorado and Wyoming. As a rule, I believe that business is the backbone of the Colorado economy, not the government. Business will be the key driver in Colorado’s recovery and America’s recovery.
I graduated from Thunderbird School of Global Management in the spring of 2003. It was truly an amazing experience to attend this world class school with some of the brightest and smartest business minds from all over the world.
I graduated from MSCD and earned much of my degree through a University of Colorado program. I majored in Chinese and spent 12 months studying in China. I lived and studied with Chinese students at Beijing University and Nanjing University. I am a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.
My first priority is always my dear wife, Olga, and our five-year-old boy, Jack. Jack is starting 1st grade in Arvada at a public charter school. When Jack is not talking, he plays soccer for the Wheat Ridge Tigers (3 on 3, no goalie). We enjoy attending games at the Stenger Soccer Complex with all the other soccer moms, dads and players. Both my mother and father live nearby our home in Wheat Ridge. We often can be found gathering there and enjoying Olga’s fantastic cooking! Olga works as a public school substitute math teacher.
